Hi, we’re the Parkers and we’re thankful to be used by God on this team and among the Watchi people. One of our best friends has described us as his “poster family for diversity.” Anthony is from Alabama, and Maureen is from Singapore. We met and married in Ghana. Jeremy was born in Singapore, but carries an American passport. Jonathan, born in Alabama, became part of our family when he was seven weeks old. Both our boys are special gifts from God.

Anthony got his education at Lipscomb and Abilene Christian Universities. He is still studying, working toward a degree through Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He served as a missionary in New Zealand (1983-87) and in Benin (1993-2001) before we joined the Watchi team. Anthony’s primary role on the team has been in introducing the Train & Multiply program and overseeing the translation of the training booklets into Ewe.

Maureen has worked as a nurse in Singapore, England, Scotland, and Ghana (1994-96). Now she stays busy as a full-time mom, and has opportunities to serve the health needs of our team and our Watchi neighbors.

We’re thankful for the support and encouragement we received from our overseeing church, Homewood, in Birmingham, Alabama.

The Parkers returned to the States in the spring of 2006.
