It's hard to believe that we left Togo over two weeks ago, and in another sense it feels that it was a lifetime away. We are enjoying our time here in Singapore. We've been treated to lots of wonderful meals and fellowship and time with our family here. Jeremy and Jonathan have enjoyed swimming, a trip to Singapore Science Center, and all the kids' shows on television. Anthony has been able to spend extra time with the boys, while Maureen has spent been catching up with old friends. Today (Saturday), we are celebrating Maureen's birthday with a family cookout.

Please continue to pray for our family, that God will reveal where and how he wants us to continue to serve him, and will bless us with wisdom in the many decisions we will need to make.

It rained so hard this week that the Batoe village flooded!

Becca and family in front of her cake
God blessed us with Becca's first birthday on the 18th. She enjoyed all of the attention, the cake, and the gift wrapping. Ellianna has confiscated her presents and thinks that she has already had her own birthday (she'll have to wait until July 29th).

You'll remember our requests for rain. Well, the Togolese have asked us to beg you to stop praying for rain. God heard and answered, and answered, and answered. Some fields actually flooded. As the rains came with high winds, the Nyinoume church had their thatched roof blown back. The rains spilled in and cracked the walls. The next day, straight-line rains pounded the wall until it caved in. This plus a land dispute have "dampened" the spirits of the church members. They hope to rebuild soon and ask for prayers to be able to build with brick walls and a tin roof. Please keep them and their building in your prayers. While you are praying for them, please continue to pray for the VoAsso church as they desire to rebuild their building which was burned down by arsonists recently.

We had a wonderful celebration with the Dagbati cluster on Sunday the 14th. The cluster and its evangelistic works cover 11 meeting places. They all gathered together for worship, a send-off prayer service, and a wonderful meal of rice and goat. We will miss them all, but we will particularly miss the elders and families whom we have worked closely with for many years. This Sunday we will meet with the Nyinoume cluster. Jeff spent two days this week in prayer and fasting with leaders from the Nyinoume cluster. The Nyinoume church was the first congregation that Jeff planted. That congregation went on to evangelize many other villages. The good-byes are difficult, but only because of the great love we share for one another.

Happy Mother's Day!
Sedome & Batoe Christians at the river for the baptisms
Christine had a Happy Mother's Day! She was served breakfast in bed with fresh flowers from our garden:) I am so thankful to the Lord for blessing me with such a wonderful wife and mother to our boys!

We also celebrated the new birth of four people from the Sedome village this past Tuesday. The rains stopped for about an hour, so we quickly went down to the river for the baptisms. As soon as they were finished, the rains started again. We praise God for working in their hearts to bring them to faith in Jesus!

We have more good news! They found our fingerprint cards this week and our FBI check was processed successfully! We praise God for another miracle in answer to prayer! Monday we will be in Accra and hopefully we will be able to pick up our I-171h, the document needed in order to bring an orphan into the United States. This is the last document we need to complete our dossier for China!

My parents left today from Dallas for a one month trip to be with us in Togo. The boys are excited to be with Mama and Papa Dear and the Watchi Christians are excited about the lessons that they have prepared. We have men's, women's and elder's meetings all lined up for them during their stay. They visited two years ago and the men still talk about things that my father taught when he came and they're excited to hear more.

RAIN, RAIN, RAIN!!! The Lord heard our prayers and opened up the heavens. It's great for the crops (almost too much) and makes getting out to distant villages very exciting:) Thank you Lord for blessing the land with life.
