Jeff and Brenda Holland
This week has been a fun one with all of Brenda's family
in Branson, MO. We spent time at the pool, at the lake, and at the
Silver Dollar City Amusement Park.
We have all been doing well. Rebecca is very easy at this time and
travel has been a breeze.
Next week we stay with Brenda's parents in Springfield, MO. On Sunday,
Jeff speaks at East Grand church of Christ. If you want to contact us,
our cell phone number is (903) 271-0133.
Murphy and Christine Crowson
This is the Crowsons last week in the States. You can
reach them by phone through June 7 @ this nationwide cell number:
501-230-8633.
Marty and Louise
Koonce
We have arrived in states and are looking forward to a
warm time in the US. We landed last Wednesday and hit the ground running
with some much needed shopping for clothes to get us looking American
again. We are already enjoying the rest at Marty's parents house in the
woods of Monticello, AR and recovering from jet lag.
Marty hits the ground running next week as he preaches at three churches
before we head on a weekend trip with his family to Branson, Missouri.
The boys have been up at normal times each day and have filled their
days with baseball, basketball, archery, bb guns, fishing, riding the
four wheeler, and petting the horses. Marty and Louise are in their time
lapse recovery. Please pray for our travels and for rest amongst them.
Also, please remember our work back in Togo as the training continues
there even in our absence for Vogan, Ahepe, and Atitogon areas. Anthony
is continuing the work with the Tabligbo group. Some of these groups are
deep into evangelism parts of the training which is kind of a make or
break potion of the training (Vogan and Ahepe) and then others like
Atitogon have begun the second phase which is their first year of
training other leaders. In addition to that please pray for Marty that
he be able to glorify God in all of his speaking, to the specific needs
of each congregation that he preaches at. Pray for us also to be able to
have some kind of routine in the midst of all the travels. Thank you and
God bless you.
Anthony and Maureen Parker
Thanks to all who prayed for Jonathan's recovery from
malaria. God has granted him healing and he, and all of us, are doing great this week. Even the adults have been getting more
regular exercise that has raised our energy levels.
Anthony had a good meeting with two of the four Tabligbo elders this
week. Pray that we can re-establish regular training sessions with the
entire group. Our trip to Ghana, together with recent rains that have
made it prime farming time, have interrupted our routine.
With Marty on furlough, Anthony was also blessed to be able to help a
Christian couple, both of whom have AIDS, by taking them to Lomé to see
the doctor and buy medicines. (Marty has been helping this couple for
several years now.) In the process, Anthony is learning a lot about the
needs of people with this disease, some of the resources that are
already available to them here, and is praying about how the church-both
here and abroad-might be more involved in demonstrating God's love.
Please continue to pray for your Watchi brothers and sisters. Although
we are in the rainy season, most people's corn crops haven't come in and
their reserves at home from last year are finished. Corn prices in the
market are at their highest in recent memory, so many people are
struggling just to find food to eat.
We are excitedly anticipating the Crowsons return to Tabligbo at the end
of next week.

Agricultural
Development
Ministry
Last
year, Laté Lawson, a recent university graduate in agriculture, began
working with the Watchi Christians to improve their agricultural yields
and their crops. As a long-term strategy, Laté is helping farmers shift
from a dependence on cotton--which has low income and depletes the soil--to more profitable soy beans which actually enrich the land. A
shorter term goal, intended to provide cash
for the families, is the raising of pineapples. Laté
took these pictures a couple of weeks ago to share with you.
